Last Sunday saw the concluding event of the 24/25 season as Croydon WFC hosted their annual end-of-season awards.
Players, committee members, community partners, and family and friends came together to celebrate a season that saw both the First team and Development team make it to their respective Cup finals.
Individual awards, voted for by players and committee members, were presented to outstanding players from both teams by Sarah Jones MP, Croydon WFC’s honorary president.
For the Development team, Shannon Quinn was awarded Committee Player of the Year, in recognition of her excellent skill on the pitch. Emilia Jimenez was voted Players’ Player of the Season, a well deserved recognition for her incredible effort and improvement over the course of the season.
The First team awards saw Av Mountford pick up the Committee Player of the Season, recognising her non-stop energy on the pitch. Kacie Nadison-Singh, a mainstay of the Croydon midfield, took home the Players’ Player award, a well-earned reward for her excellent and consistent performances.
Sadly, the club also said goodbye to Shakira Gadsby, who has served as both player and coach for the Development team, as she relocates this summer.
The Committee also gave their thanks to this season’s sponsors: Kiwanis Club of Croydon, Unite the Union, and KCB Plumbing and Heating.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Croydon this season. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming pre-season friendlies, dates and venues of which will be announced soon!
